Learn to Run Strong Programme

Hated running at school? Just not a runner?

Going out for a run is a relatively cheap and convenient form of exercise, which can be performed almost anywhere, on your own or in a group.

Many new runners fall into some common early traps becoming disheartened after only a few sessions, often giving up, feeling that running is not for them or stop because they are struggling to manage aches and pains!

Running won’t feel easy all the time but should feel achievable.

You might get some aches but these shouldn’t need to stop you!


Unlike other beginner run courses our 11 week Learn to Run Strong programme combines coached run sessions with progressive strength and conditioning sessions to gradually build up your confidence and running ability. This combination underpins better running performance over the long term, reduces the risk of injury, supports bone health and adds variety to your training experiences.

Led by a qualified run, strength and conditioning coach and physiotherapist the Physiohaus Learn to Run Strong programme is aimed at those of you new to running or returning after a long break.

Our first week will provide you with the information you need to enjoy the programme and your future running self and provide us with some information so we can tailor any training needs over the coming weeks.


Sessions are held twice weekly of between 45mins - 75mins

  • Strength and conditioning session - Monday's 9.30am (45mins)
  • Running session - Tuesday's 9.30am (up to 75mins)
  • Weekly guided homework to keep you on track and progressing towards your goals.

Course Dates:

  • Course one: Spring in your step. Starts week commencing January 14, break for Feb Half term 18/02.
  • Course two: Summer Sizzler. Starts week commencing April 22, break for May Half term 27/05.
  • Course three: Awesome Autumn. Starts week commencing September 16, break for Oct Half term date TBC.

Price: £220 per individual per course.

Learn to Run Strong programmes must be pre-booked with a deposit of £50 - terms and conditions apply *.

Outstanding balance paid on week one session one of the course. Please note once a course has started refunds will only be given due to injury or illness, at the discretion of the course leader
